Welcome to my shop! My name is Julie!

Since childhood, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When I was about 11 years old, my father came up with the idea for my "first" business. I knocked on doors in my neighborhood to install plastic sticker numbers behind houses. In case of fire or theft, neighbors could tell the emergency services where to go. In the 80's, no GPS! I was very shy, but the appeal of challenges began!

Both my parents granted me many talents, but what stands out (for me) is their manual side. My father knows how to do everything in renovations, woodworking, etc. My mother excels in needlework, sewing and other crafts. She taught me how to sew. At 14, I was selling original fabric bags at school, my "second" business.

At 17, I was living in an apartment and loved animals. Someone gave me a puppy, Zoby, an Akita/ German Shepherd. Looking for a collar and leash, I decided to make it and then I made some more to sell in the parks in my neighborhood. My best friend joined me and participated in this micro-business that lasted a few years. However, my friend left to study nursing, and I gradually lost the flame to go ahead with this project alone. It was so different to be an entrepreneur without the internet that I gave up the idea!

I went back to school for a course in horticulture and worked in this field for a few years. In 2010, I found a job as a blue-collar gardener in a small town west of Montreal. I only worked 6 months a year. I knew in my heart that I didn't want to work for someone else for the rest of my life.

One day, I fell in love with a necklace made by a Quebec woman on Facebook. It was a huge crush. I bought it and when I received it, I thought it would be fun to make jewelry and sell it during the winter months. Later, someone told me about Etsy where we could post our handmade items online. I opened my store in December 2011 and offered my jewelry there.

In 2014 I resigned from my city job and have been working full time for my business ever since. At the end of 2020, I incorporated my company and at forty-five years old, I am proud to be single-handedly managing everything and selling in many countries.
